oo4. just a few pictures...

Welcome to Shakespeare's Globe! This is the Globe stage... the poles and things were uncovered as soon as the characters went into the forest of Arden for the show (As You Like It), so it's just a little bit of a way to change things up. It was a fantastic show on Monday and an amazing experience. I highly recommend it to anyone that goes to London in the summer season!

The Globe from where we stood as groundlings... open air theatre! The weather was PERFECT. Honestly, we didn't even realize that we were outside since it was so perfect and calm. The only time we knew we were outside was when a plane flew overhead... and what was great was that Touchstone, the jester character, used that to his advantage once and it was a stitch.

More views of the stands. And there's Ben, Gary, Krista and our gang there too.

Sam and I in front of the stage!

Ben and Gary as they leaned against the stage. And they let you do that during the show - which was really helpful when standing for three hours. It pretty much takes away the pain! Well, somewhat.

Andy, who wanted to be up in the "sky boxes" which are more expensive and actually more uncomfortable and the view isn't nearly as great. He complained about it the entire day... until he actually saw the show. I think he took back the complaints. Maybe.

The Heavens. This is above the stage and it's a recreation of what was painted on the actual Globe in 1604. It's absolutely gorgeous in the Globe today.

Gary, Ben and David being complete creepers.

Globe from the outside.

And again. With David in the shot.

Welcome to Rose Bruford! These are the grounds of the campus. There's a pond with ducks and swans and whatnot. It's absolutely beautiful. I'll try to get better pictures next time around when we're there on Tuesday.

Our Tube stop which we see every day - Baron's Court.

Mind the Gap has become one of our favorite sayings. Or should I say favourite??

It's hilarious to hear "This is a Piccadilly Line service to... Cockfosters." All of us are amused. And not even just sophomoric kinds of ways, the way they say Cockfosters is pretty incredible.

Sam and Krista as we wait for the District Line for rehearsal!

The Tube (District Line) while we go to rehearsal.

The Scientology Center, which is literally right across the street from Drill Hall where we rehearse. Sam got recruited for the faith... to no avail. Obviously.

Sam and Krista during rehearsal... the last part of the read through.

Krista and Joanna during the read through. That's Joanna McCarthy, our Brit in the cast who graduated from Rose Bruford. She's 23 and amazing!

Gary and Jo!

The master binder of doom.... aka my best friend. But it's convenient because Drill Hall lets me keep the binder there instead of having to lug the 3 pound thing of death back and forth from our flats to Drill Hall. Holla!

First bits of blocking!

Sam as Joanne.

Krista as Mary and Sam as Joanne.

Krista as Mary and Joanna as Kathy.

Joanna and Krista doing the cheers for Act I of Vanities where their characters are cheerleaders.
Sam and Jo trying to figure out the cheers.
Our fantastic and fabulous director, Gary Diomandes.
Home on the tube from rehearsal! Gary, Krista and Sam.

That's all for now! There'll probably be another update later tonight after Mother Courage with pictures of today and yesterday's trip to Cambridge (which was so remarkable)! Cheers!
